Welcome to
Parnell Early Childhood Centre
Parnell Early Childhood Centre offers quality care, great teacher ratios, leafy outdoor play areas and well-planned rooms for children as they grow and develop from babies to 5 year olds.
our centre
Nestled away in leafy Parnell, our Early Childhood Centre has the best of both worlds. Children love playing in our large outdoor area that includes a sandpit, trees to climb and lots of covered places for play, and parents enjoy our convenient location just minutes away from Auckland CBD.
Kowhai and Totara Room - Infants and toddlers (under two)
In the Kowhai Room we've created an environment that gives babies the space to grow, explore and develop.
Toddlers can play, learn and create in the Totara Room. Babies and toddlers also have separate sleeping rooms, recognising that babies often need multiple sleeps during a day while many of our toddlers only need one.
Kauri Room - Two and three year olds
From two years of age, children transition into the Kauri Room, a cosy, nurturing, and well-prepared environment that supports their growing independence. Here, tamariki are encouraged to explore, play, and begin developing important social, communication, and self-help skills.
Teachers provide warm and responsive guidance, helping children build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging for them to become capable and competent learners. These foundations ensure a smooth and positive journey as they prepare for the next stage of learning in the Pōhutukawa Room.
Pohutukawa Room - Four year olds
From four years of age, children transition into the Pōhutukawa Room, which is a bright, engaging, and well-resourced environment designed to spark curiosity and foster independence. Here, tamariki are encouraged to explore their interests, take on new challenges, and develop as confident, capable learners.
Teachers provide caring guidance and intentional learning opportunities, including early literacy and numeracy experiences, to extend thinking and problem-solving skills. Alongside this, children strengthen their social, communication, and self-help skills, ensuring they are well prepared for a smooth and confident transition to school.

We are constantly amazed at the activities that the teachers come up with to educate, stimulate and entertain the children, and with the regular "story updates" and newsletters we receive which make us feel part of the experience.
The Healthy Heart meals the children are fed are also amazing. Our child was 9 months old when he started attending the Centre, and he loves going each day. We put that down to all of the above and the great experience PECC provides for the children. It has made the transition so much easier for all of us.

Making the decision to put a young child into day care is a very tough one, but this has eased the transition for all of us. Interactive teachers who look like they want to be there, children are happy and well fed, great environment both inside and outside for children to play, learn and develop.

The teachers really care about the kids, I trust them all with my son and I know he loves going to the Centre every day.
