Today our Early Childhood Centre at Gladstone Park was filled with kindness, colour, and connection as we came together to celebrate Pink Shirt Day!

Our tamariki and kaiako proudly wore pink to show their support for creating a safe, inclusive, and caring environment for everyone. Throughout the day, we explored what it means to be a kind friend - using gentle words, helping hands, and making sure everyone feels like they belong.

We shared stories about friendship, talked about ways to stand up for others, and practiced using our “kindness voices.” The children also expressed their ideas through art, creating beautiful pink masterpieces that remind us how powerful kindness can be.

Pink Shirt Day is a meaningful opportunity to reinforce the values we live every day in our centre - respect, empathy, and inclusion. Watching our little learners embrace these ideas in their own special ways was truly heartwarming.
