You'll learn the creative thinking behind mending solutions, useful repair stitches, and discover how to create new life for worn or damaged garments.
Guided by our fabulous tutor, Barbara, you’ll discover how to draw inspiration from fabric mementos and treasured scraps to create beautiful, layered details in your stitching. Whether you're new to hand mending or looking to elevate your repairs, Barbara will provide one-on-one guidance and ideas tailored to your project.
Why mend by hand?
It’s mindful, sustainable, and a beautiful way to extend the life of natural textiles. With a few simple techniques, you can turn a small tear or stain into a feature—and give your garments new personality and charm.
What to bring:
A garment or textile item with a small tear, hole, or stain
Any fabric scraps, threads, or trims you’d like to incorporate
Barbara will also help you plan out any more time-consuming repairs you can continue working on at home.
Workshop details:
Saturday 2 August, 9.30-11.30am
