Join Parnell Community Centre's ''An Introduction to Acrylic Painting and Mixed Media'' class with Jill McIntosh.

This class is perfect for those wanting to learn the foundations of painting, develop essential techniques, and gain confidence working with acrylics and mixed media.

Throughout the course, students will explore a wide range of artists and subject matter, building skills through guided practice and experimentation in a supportive environment. In this class, our tutor Jill can give you more individual tuition as this class will be smaller, than the Painting Journey.

Bring your own materials (as listed) for an immersive artistic experience designed to expand your skills and unlock your creative potential. Perfect for all levels!

For a list of paint colours and materials to bring please refer below:

  • Acrylic paint colours: Magenta red, Cadmium Yellow, Titanium or zinc while, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber

  • Heavy art paper

  • Canvas to heavy rag paper (able to take wet media)

  • Paint brushes

  • Cloth to dry brushes

  • A jar with a lid for water

  • Optional: Chalk pastels and pencils and coloured pastel paper.

About Our Tutor: Jill McIntosh

Jill is an artist who studied Fine Arts, majoring in Printmaking at the University of Canterbury. She finished with an Honours year and later returned to Elam School of Fine Arts where she completed her Masters of Fine Arts in 2007. Jill set up the Print workshop at the Wellington Arts Centre and edited Contemporary New Zealand Prints.  Recently McIntosh has finished her PhD in Visual Arts at Auckland University of Technology.
