This class is designed for both beginners and more experienced artists looking to expand their creative skills. We’ll explore a wide range of subject matter while developing techniques for working with acrylic paint on canvas. Over the course of 8 weeks, you'll engage in in-depth weekly studies, each thoughtfully curated by your tutor Jill (Ph.D. in Visual Arts)This course can be taken for a year or more, each term and each year with different material.

Instruction will focus on small-scale canvas work, with an emphasis on experimentation, technique, and personal expression.

About Our Tutor: Jill McIntosh

Jill is an artist who studied Fine Arts, majoring in Printmaking at the University of Canterbury. She finished with an Honours year and later returned to Elam School of Fine Arts where she completed her Masters of Fine Arts in 2007. Jill set up the Print workshop at the Wellington Arts Centre and edited Contemporary New Zealand Prints.  Recently McIntosh has finished her PhD in Visual Arts at Auckland University of Technology.
