1-Day Workshop: In this workshop, we start the day to train our maker's eye while walking the Domain on the lookout for potential ink-making-materials. We talk about rules for foraging in an urban, shared environment, and discuss suitable materials that can be gathered in different seasons.
While we don’t have the facilities or time to cook our inks at the workshop, we will go through the procedure for some inks, for example, walnut, acorn cap, copper oxide, using supplied materials and tools for a hands-on experience. Pre-made, finished inks are available on the day, so you don’t miss out on the experience of using handmade inks: colours depend on seasonal availability.
Books on the subject are made available on the day from Auckland Library.
