Streams & Gullies Heritage Walk

Wonder at Auckland's colonial past, while treading the beautiful shoreline of Hobson Bay on this walk of streams and gullies.

On this 5.2 km walk, you'll walk through the bush-clad gullies of Parnell. The walk links five separate reserves, including the foreshore of Hobson Bay. Walk Details

  • Time: Allow 2 hours

  • Level of Difficulty: This walk requires an above-average to good level of fitness and good walking shoes are recommended! It rambles over hills and valleys, through bush and across tidal pathways. Bush pathways are likely to be wet and slightly muddy after rains. Please check tides to ensure you can continue along the Hobson Bay Walkway between Thomas Bloodworth Park and the bottom of Tohunga Crescent.

  • This walk is not suitable for prams and buggies.

  • Parking: There is metered parking at Auckland Domain, although it can be difficult to find a park during work hours and when there are weekend sports and activities in The Domain.

  • Train Stations: Parnell Station is now open, but services are limited. Use Newmarket Station on Remuera Road or Grafton Station on Park Road.

  • Bus: Link buses travel in a circuit through the City and inner city suburbs, with stops outside the Jubilee Building and along Parnell Road shopping area.

Streams & Gullies of Parnell is a 5.2km walk. It starts at the Jubilee Building (Parnell Community Centre), 545 Parnell Road, Parnell and finishes at the corner of Parnell Road and Denby Streets in the Parnell shopping area.
